UK Euchre Drive Format
(Based on a format played in the UK and elsewhere)
You play 8 rounds of 4 hands (A tie invokes a 5th hand tiebreaker)
With the winners moving to the next table, (the last table goes to table 1)
All the points you score are added up at the end to give a total, winner is the pair with the highest total
Please note that the 5 minute boot rule doesnt NOT apply in this format

As this is a no elimination tournament and you play all 8 rounds, please consider if you have the time, We allow an hour for this format, but are usually done in around 45 minutes. this depends on the players and boots etc. Booted players will be replaced at the discretion of the host, so as not to hold the tourney up
Due to the fact that we need FULL tables to start the UK drive format, please open and fill tables 1 - 6 before opening any others.There have been times when we have been unable to start on time due to several tables with 3 players. If you wish to pard a particular player, please arrive and sit in good time.
In the event of a bye table, the players there are awarded 4 points, this is how it is done in the UK
defend alone:
If the opposition goes alone then opposing team can go alone. You have the option to defend alone. You will need to get 3 tricks to euchre (set) them to get the 4 points. The caller will still need to get all 5 tricks for the 4 points
